Lowrey, Fortner both recipients of Mississippi Bar Association’s highest honor

The highest honor a lawyer in the state of Mississippi can receive is a designation as fellow in the Mississippi Bar Association.

Only 10% of the lawyers in Mississippi are eligible for membership as a fellow.

Their selection is recognition by their peers that the attorney has achieved the highest level of professionalism, competence and leadership.

Fellows are selected for membership based not only on their excellence as a lawyer but also by their dedication and service to the public and profession.

Both Erik Lowrey and most recently Tom Fortner have received that honor.

Erik was designated in 2004,and Tom was designated April 2019.

Erik and Tom’s dedication to law in the state is why their firm, Lowrey & Fortner, has been so successful.

Erik founded the firm in December of 1980.

Erik has practiced exclusively in civil law litigation since his admittance to the bar. In 1987, Robert R. Marshall, became second attorney in the firm. Thomas Fortner began practice with the firm in 2010, expanding the firm's areas to include criminal law in both the Federal and State venues.

Richard Filce joined the firm in March of 2002, Shawn M. Lowrey joined the firm in March of 2003. In May, 2016 Kimberly Joy Miri joined the firm exclusively in Family, Estate and Equity Law. Valerie Moss Andrews joined the firm in November 2016 as an associate with Tom.

The firm has provided excellence in legal service to the state of Mississippi for over 40 years.

Both Erik and Tom plan to continue their outstanding legal ability and devotion to the public and profession for many more years to come.
